MRC SUBWOOFER DIAPHRAGM WITH WAFFLE PATTERN
Our acclaimed Mica Reinforced Cellulose (MRC) membrane material has been further enhanced through a waffle pattern that provides exceptional stiffness and response time. Improvements to the MRC material over the years have provided a driver 10 times stiffer than conventional PP Matrix cones for natural sound with low distortion and a wide frequency response.
SEPARATE NOTCH EDGE SURROUND
The subwoofer surround features another of Sony's own technologies, with easily recognizable curved edges that improve vertical amplitude symmetry for dramatically reduced distortion and improved clarity.
PROGRESSIVE HEIGHT RATE SPIDER
The acoustically optimized spider allows handling of greater power and airflow with a profile designed for faster and more precise protection of the speaker cone. The wire from the voice coil is sewn onto the spider to increase signal integrity and prevent audio distortion, reducing wire movement.
GOLD PLATED INPUT TERMINALS
Gold-plated spring terminals allow up to AWG#10 speaker cables.
FRAME STRUCTURE WITH FIVE BARS AND DYNAMIC AIR DIFFUSER
The five-bar frame design spreads resonance, while the integrated, dynamic air diffuser ensures air circulation with smooth cone passage and cooling of the voice coil.
