Beautiful handmade papier-mâché jar from India. Each one is handmade, and the jars will therefore vary in appearance and structure. Handmade papier-mâché jars were and are a way to get cheap interior and utility items in the Indian household. They have been used for food storage, e.g. storage of maize, grain, rice and lentils. The jar is beautiful with dried flowers and grasses - or just completely as it is. You can also fill it with sand and put a couple of block lights in the top. The jar is not waterproof, so if you would like to have a green plant in it, you can put an ordinary flower pot into the papier mache jar.
